Thank you for your continued prayers. I hope everyone is having a good Thanksgiving weekend. David & I were able to take a much-needed break last night and spend some time away from the hospital, getting a full night's sleep, and even had a nice Thanksgiving dinner... thanks Mom! We are back at the hospital now, and are so glad to see how Jaron is improving.
Jaron is breathing on his own & they were able to take him off the ventilator today. David, Brianna, my Mom & I were all able to hold him this afternoon, and I was even able to feed him for the first time since all of this happened. If all goes well, he will be moved out of the ICU tomorrow into the regular Pediatric unit for at least a couple more days.
Doctors are still waiting on some of the labs, but were able to rule out the flu. They are thinking it is a possible staph infection, but we should know more tomorrow. On top of everything else, I had to go to urgent care today as I have developed Pink Eye. So I am being extra careful that I do not spread it to Jaron or anyone else. From what I am told, it is highly contagious.
I'm not able to upload pictures right now, but my sister posted a picture to my wall on facebook of Jaron that was taken this afternoon. He's still hooked up to lots of tubes, but at least the ventilator is out of his mouth now. He wasn't able to cry before with the tube in, and so I've never been so glad to hear my baby cry!
