The past two years, we've spent the 4th of July at my mom's church picnic (at camp), but this year we decided to attend our own church picnic at the park. Jordan actually stood by this tree & ASKED me to take his picture. lol That's a first!
The kids enjoyed playing on the playground & riding bikes. Jaron even got to ride someone else's scooter.
Ashley, playing in the dirt, as usual...
Sidewalk chalk with Jeremiah & Parker...
Joshua had fun playing dodgeball & softball, but I didn't get any pictures of it (I was busy keeping track of Ashley, who was a handful that day). He wanted to play soccer as well, but just the teens were going to play. I think he was discussing with Daniel & Chase what they were going to do instead.
After the potluck, we had a short service & also listened to the Declaration of Independence being read...
In the evening, we had our annual get-together at Chris & Debbie's for food & fireworks with a few other families.
Nathan, Chase, Daniel, Joshua & Beatrice...
David helped Jordan & Jaron do sparklers, but only for a few seconds. They're still not really into them yet & are a little afraid of the fire.
These were actually from their neighbors who were finishing up their show just as we were getting started. This was their finale. It was awesome!
