Last week, we went to the orchard to pick our favorite apples- Prime Red, and also some nectarines. Normally, we like to eat several apples while we're picking, but it was a little more tough for Joshua to do that this year. The night before we went, he discovered his very first loose tooth! He was pretty excited because he's been watching all his friends lose their teeth this year. But it made it harder for him to just bite into an apple, so Dad had to cut them up for him, in between picking. The nectarines were a lot easier for him, though.

We also picked strawberries, blackberries, & blueberries earlier in the summer to stock up our freezer- we like to make smoothies a lot at our house. This has been our favorite smoothie recipe this summer:
Strawberry Kiwi Nectarine Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 cup vanilla yogurt
1 cup milk
6 tbsp dry milk (optional)
4 ice cubes
5 tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla
15 frozen strawberries
1 nectarine
1/2 kiwi
Blend all ingredients together in a blender. We have a Vita Mix Blender, so we just put everything in together, but you'd probably have to do it differently with a regular blender. And you can always substitute whatever fruit you have on hand. This makes enough for 2 large glasses & 1 small. Enjoy!
