We were actually on our way to a funeral and had a one hour time slot from 5:00-6:00pm that we could stop by and see the house on the way. Well, we figured the big reveal was earlier in the day, so we weren't really expecting much other than to just drive by the house & see what it looked like. But when we got there a little after 5:00, someone told us the family would be arriving sometime between 5:00- 6:00! So we quickly went to find a parking spot & calmly walked (nope, we RAN) the 10-minute jaunt to the house. Okay, David, for the record, you did walk. :)

The news reports say there were over 1000 people there in the crowd, but it sure didn't seem like that many. We actually got a spot with a pretty good view.
The story about the Byers family is really a neat one- their 8-yr old daughter, Jenessa (her nickname is Boey), has a rare childhood cancer and is fighting a recurrence, which has left the family financially drained. So nearly 2000 workers helped build them a brand new 4000 sq ft house last week.

The family has arrived & everyone prepares to shout MOVE THAT BUS!!!

Here it is..... their brand new house..... built in one week.....

The Byers family makes their way to the front door...

Ty Pennington & the Byers family... Boey waives to the crowd...

Ty is bending over, talking to Boey...

the rest of the design team...Tracy...Ed...Michael...Tanya...

We felt really blessed to be a part of this & amazed at how God worked the timing out for us to be able to be there. I can't wait for this episode to air, so we can hear the whole story & see the inside of the house!!
