A Fun Summer Weekend

On Saturday, we spent the afternoon riding bikes around town with some good friends of ours. None of us had been on a long bike ride like that in years, and it was so much fun. Our city has a great set of bike paths that go along the river- I think we ended up going about 13 miles in all.

First, we came to a park that was having a big Safety Awareness Day, and we stopped for a while to check it out. We saw a helicopter land in the field, a police dog demo, "jaws of life" demo, and there were even monster truck rides.

Donna & I really wanted to ride the monster truck, but we didn't have enough money. Too bad. I guess I'll just have to add that to my 'Things To Do Someday' list.

Our next stop was the rose garden, which is in full bloom right now. It was so beautiful- I could have spent all day there. Definitely a fun place to take pictures.

We continued on & stopped at the mall for chinese food before heading back home for some homemade smoothies. The end to a perfect day. I think we'll definitely have to do this again sometime.

On Sunday, we took Joshua to his very first circus. He's been saving up money in his piggy bank for a while to pay for this. The best part was at the end when they brought out the motorcycles. We couldn't believe they had three motorcycles in the sphere, riding upside down in circles at the same time! It was a little hard to watch, though- at least for me- but was pretty amazing. Joshua loved it. I wish I would have taken a picture of the smile on his face.

very fun...did you guys know about the safety demo---or did you just happen upon it? What a perfect day.

We haven't done the circus thing with Anthony yet. That is a definite next on our list!!

Yes, we knew about it, but had never been before so we didn't really know what to expect. Didn't even think about bringing money.

I think Anthony would love the circus. I don't know how often they come.
