In July, we went to the orchard to pick blueberries and cherries. Usually, we go later in the summer & pick apples. But I've been wanting to pick cherries for several years now, so we finally made that happen this year. They were SO good too!
The kids enjoyed helping pick blueberries...
Although, I think they ate all the ones they picked. lol
Jordan was so excited to wear his new rubber boots. However, he was a little disappointed that he didn't find many puddles. I told him I'd take him to play in the puddles this Fall. He can't wait! Joshua looks like he's enjoying his ride. lol
Joshua climbed up in the cherry tree to pick.
Jordan was really good at finding the pits without swallowing them.
In August, a group of families from our church had a potluck in the park. Some of us played volleyball afterwards. Joshua even got to play, & is hitting the ball in this picture...
Meanwhile, Katie & Ashley had fun playing with the rocks.
On Friday, our homeschool group had a get-together at someone's house out in the country. It was a fun, relaxing day. Joshua had a blast with the other kids!
He got to go swimming in their big pool, & they also played volleyball, badminton & soccer.
We also roasted hot dogs & marshmallows...
I took the younger kids for a short hike while we were there, but we got sidetracked by the blackberries so we didn't make it very far...
The kids sure enjoyed picking them...
And eating them too, of course...
We did continue on a little bit further on our hike. It was so beautiful, walking through the forest. Reminds me of where I grew up. We owned 28 acres- most of it forest land- when I was a kid, and I loved playing & exploring in it.
